K-9 Crime Fighters
Jaeger is a 2.5-year-old, 62-pound Dutch Shepherd from The
Netherlands who is currently serving in APD's K-9 Patrol from 2009
to the present. Shortly after certifying him street-ready, his first
handler, Officer Mark Ferris, promoted to Detective. His current
handler is Officer Art Nelsen who has just transferred into K-9 Patrol.
They are currently training together and we look forward to their
graduation to the streets.
Jaeger is one of the friendliest police K-9's at APD, his striking
markings, and personable nature are destined to make him a crowd
favorite. He is the only Dutch Shepherd serving on K-9 Patrol and
his highly motivated by praise.
