Business who are supportive of APD's K-9 Patrol Unit and/or K-9 Crime Fighters are
listed on this page.
Petco
Anyone with a pet should consider visiting
the Petco at Great Hills Trail & 183. They
are wonderfully supportive of APD's K-9
Patrol and K-9 Crime Fighters, as well as
animal rescue organizations, which we also
support. We think any store that is so
friendly to the community deserves our
business.
Veterinary Specialty Center of Texas
Dr. Todd Murphy of this vet hospital, located
at 115 Old Settlers Blvd. in Round Rock, has
generously donated his time and resources
to helping two injured police dogs at very
little cost to the City of Austin. This is not
only a benefit to K-9 Patrol but to local
taxpayers as well! The hospital's number is
512-744-4644.
World Wide Canine
They have provided several patrol dogs
imported from Europe to APD's K-9 Patrol.
They work with all types of working dogs,
including bomb and narcotic dogs as well
as dogs trained for personal protection.
Animal Hospital of Georgetown
Dr. Patrick Breen is the veterinarian for
general concerns of APD's K-9 Patrol Unit
police canines for the past 8 years. He is a
graduate of Texas A&M University, College
of Veterinary Medicine and has a special
interest in working dogs. We don't have a
Web site to link to, but his clinic is at 108
Woodmont Dr. in Georgetown,
512-863-0470.
Anlaufstelle Kennels
A great breeder of german shepherds and
schipperkes located in Ponder, Texas
(between Ft. Worth and Denton) that we
personally recommend highly.
Austin Animal Art
Patrice Palmer is an Austin-area artist who
sketches animal portraits from
high-resolution photographs. She is
currently working on a portrait of Draco,
K9-7. See a low-resolution version of the
sketch here.
Hill Country Dog Center
APD's K-9 Patrol obtained many of their
police canines from this facility. They import
their dogs from Europe and have
consistently provided excellent partners for
APD's K-9 Handlers.
